I'll be the first to admit that Willow's room looks way better than the rest of our place. We moved into our new apartment at the beginning of June, and so everything is still pretty bare and boring...except for her nursery. The entire process of getting her room together has been a great way for me to spend time alone in preparation for her arrival. I've read in the rocking chair, prayed on the floor, sang, organized, and even danced a little in there. I love this sweet little space I've created for my Willow Noelle. The only thing missing now is her chubby little face!

I chose to mostly stick with white and pops of green, yellow, and blue. There had to be some kind of forest feel, after all we are naming this sweet baby "Willow". However, I didn't want to overdo it. I think her room is the perfect mix of bright, vintage, and earthy. It's feminine without being overwhelmingly girly and pink.
These came from a big bag of used, and mostly broken frames that my grandma gave me. I plan on filling them with pictures of our little family once Willow comes, but I kind of like the empty look too. We'll see what I end up doing!
The changing table was a $25 garage sale find from my grandma, score! All it needed was a new coat of paint, and voila...we have a pretty changing table/dresser. Lamp from Target($10), changing pad($26) and cover ($17) from Babies R Us.
This little outfit is what we plan on bringing her home from the hospital in, a gift from my mom and grandma. The headband was made by my sister! Burt's Bees diaper cream and lotion, and Huggies Pure & Natural diapers, safe and comfy for her little bum (still deciding about cloth diapering when she's a little older). That little giraffe is Sophie($23), an adorable teether for Willow to play with while she's getting a fresh diaper change.
Glider, given to me by my Aunt Susan that she used with both of her kiddos, it matches perfectly! Pillow from Target($22), night stand was left by a previous renter at our first apartment, our landlord said we could take it for free! Owl night lamp from Kirkland's($7)
Twine spheres that Jared and I made from a youtube tutorial, cheap and easy, but also super messy. WILLOW letters from Hobby Lobby that I painted to match the room.
These awesome tree decals(Sissy Little $110) are from a contest that I won on Jess's blog, Boho Baby Bump, a year or so ago. They look amazing, it's hard to tell they aren't painted on! Crib is from Target($130), sheets from Target($10), crib skirt I found on Amazon($17), hamper from Babies R Us($24). Stuffed owl from Pier One($25), little bunny made by my sister, basket from my Aunt Holly, filled with the rest of Willow's stuffed animals--including the Sleep Sheep($22), a snuggly sound machine!.
White sheer curtains tied with twine, so easy and pretty. I have no idea where those glass bottles came from, I found them in my parent's basement.
Martha Stewart book shelf($40) filled with books and toys from various family members! Frame from Target with photos of Jared & I as babies and an ultrasound of Willow's cute face. Flower & leaf wall decals from Target, and birds that I painted to match.
So there you have it! I cannot even wait to rock my baby to sleep in here. We walk by every day and usually say something like, "Our little chubby baby is going to be here soon!" We are absolutely, ridiculously in love with this little girl who we haven't even met yet.
=)

Very cute! I love the twine spheres

ReplyDeleteso exciting!
ReplyDeleteVery simple, serene, and perfect! I would love to sleep there :) I keep wanting to buy a Sophie but haven't been able to push the 'submit order' on my Amazon cart! What a beautiful room for baby Willow.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this nursery! I'm a big fan of gender-neutral themes. Seems silly to push gender roles onto little babies before they even have a chance to figure out who they want to be! Plus, it's more economical if you plan to have more! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the nursery! So refreshing to see a little girl's nursery not smothered in pink :) Beautiful room for any baby to enjoy!
